Basic Facts

basic facts 2

Barton Rural School runs a Basic Facts programme for students achieving Stage 4 and above (approximately Yr 3 and up). These are tested once a week in class with a test paper. Each class will have practice sheets to go home and complete with homework. Students have 4 minutes to complete the test paper.

Please remember, that knowing your Basic Facts, is not the same as understanding strategy. Knowledge and Strategy are two parts of maths that go hand in hand, and both are important, but cannot be substituted for each other. Helping your child learn their Basic Facts will help with their overall ability to use maths in a meaningful way.

If you have any questions with regards to the Basic Facts, please see your child's class teacher.
